Testing For Low Testosterone

is it possible to have low testosterone, but still have a decent amount of body hair?
I have had most the symptoms of low T. Dr. Diagnosed me low, off one blood test… Total T 192 and am only 32. Have had depression and fatigue for years, and most other symptoms except the body hair???
I appreciate the research! But peculiar I know… Can someone elaborate??
Thomas points out some good facts. I’d definitely look into the cause of low T (possible pituitary or testicular malfunction, excessive estrogen, etc.) and/or start testosterone replacement therapy if you can’t get your testosterone to the upper 1/3 of the reference range through other means.
Body hair depends upon testosterone in an indirect way. Testosterone converts to another hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which accounts for androgenic effects of T (facial hair and body hair growth, assertiveness, development of genitalia, etc.). Also, testosterone can increase levels of insulin-like growth factor (IGF), which also contributes to body hair growth. You might have sufficient DHT in spite of having low T.
I noticed the opposite; my testosterone was borderline low (“low-normal”, with respect to the reference range) but my DHT consistently tested low. I noticed loss of significant amounts of body hair (I was quite hirsute before) before going on TRT.
