symptoms of a hormone imbalance
Is this thyroid? or hormone imbalance?

I was diagnosed hypo thyroid about 4 years ago. I’ve been on synthroid since. Overall, I’ve been symptom free. Recently I started having symptoms like when I first got diagnosed, insomnia, heart palpatations, trouble breathing at night, irritability. I can’t get to a doctor for over a week.
Also, I’ve had issues with estrogen dominance. These symptoms could be from either condition. Anyone else had this set of symptoms with thyroid or hormones? I’m disappointed that it’s happening after doing well so long. Please do not say “go to a doctor”. I have an appointment.

You could need a dose increase or possible progesterone cream. Many women who are hypothyroid, also have low progesterone levels and use a USP grade progesterone cream. It helps with estrogen dominance and it also helps to balance the thyroid.

Another possible issue is conversion of T4 to T3. Many people don’t convert enough so some thyroid symptoms linger. To find out, ask for a free t3 test. It should be at least midrange. Very important too, always test first thing in the morning when the metabolism is near its low point.
Do some research in the various thyroid forums before your doctor’s visit and hopefully it will help. There are plenty of hypothyroid groups on yahoo
