What are some natural ways to treat low testosterone?
My hubby believes he has a low testosterone level problem and is too stubborn to go seek medical treatment. Is there anything we can do? He is only 25 has had all the symptoms for about a year and a half and its only getting worse. I have begged him but hes too embarrassed to tell a dr he is having these kinds of problems. No sex drive, low energy, weaker than he used to be. He takes vitamins and has tried a few different brands and even has tried iron just in case it was a vitamin or mineral deficiency.
He does not drink or smoke or do any kind of drugs and eats 3 meals a day no junk food hardly ever and stands all day at work.
He should really see an endocrinologist just to make sure nothings wrong physically. I should say that dietary supplementation is always a good thing to cover any type of vitamin or mineral deficiency although I HIGHLY advise that he discontinue the use of any and ALL iron supplements. Iron supplements can lead to secondary hemochromatosis (not hereditary hemochromatosis) and WILL cause impotence (which will be the least of his worries among the other symptoms). Since he takes supplements one thing he could add to his regimen is Tribulus terrestris (its for athletes) taken with his other supplements right after a meal. I use it sometimes for my workouts and can attest to its effectiveness in increasing testosterone levels. Its incredibly safe and can be found at any GNC store. Although I should add its something that should be cycled on and off as the body starts to become insensitive (immune) to its effects like caffeine. For example if you go off caffeine for a year and then suddenly go back on the bodies sensitivity to its effects are substantially increased. Other than this piece (sp?) of advice I HIGHLY recommend he go see a doctor specializing in endocrinology. Good luck!
