hormone replacement therapy after menopause
Pertaining to medical malpractice/negligence: In January 09, I had surgery?

to remove a polyp from my uterus and for the Surgeon to go in surgically to look at one fallopian tube for infection (I only had one ovary and tube at time of this surgery) and when I woke up from surgery, I was informed that he removed the ovary and tube…which meant I would now go through menopause. For 8 months I saw this Surgeon for after care and informed him of the bleeding that occurred every month…all he did was give me Hormone Replacement Therapy…I then went to a different Doctor and she found out I still had my ovary! Taking Hormones while I already had hormones could have been very dangerous. Other than aggravation, worry from taking the hormones, headaches, some swelling, and breast tenderness, I guess I don’t have anything wrong with me from his negligence…is this enough for a lawsuit?

I’m only a legal secretary, but I would say you definitely have enough for a lawsuit. I don’t know what state you are in, but you need to contact a med mal attorney in your area. If you don’t know of any, you can contact your local bar association and they will give you a list of attorneys that handle med mal cases. You can search” bar association” on google and it should pull up their website. If the attorney doesn’t think you have a case then you haven’t lost anything but a few minutes of your time. It’s worth a try, that’s for sure. It’s possible you only have a year to file a claim though, so make sure you check it out soon. Good luck!
