Does taking hormone replacement therapy make your appetite increase?

I have been taking the drug femhrt for a month and have noticed I am very hungry, but luckily havent gained weight. Is this a common side effect?

Hormones -especially estrogen – can affect the production of insulin. If it overproduces, it may result in a condition known as hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). This can have the effect of increasing your appetite.

For basic information on hypoglycemia, check out www.hufa.org. For basic information on hyperinsulinemia – the overproduction of insulin, check out www.mayoclinic.com and search for hyperinsulinemia.
