Transsexual Hormone Replacement Therapy Effects?
Hi, Im a 14 year old guy who is transgendered and feels like a girl. I have come out to my family and I’m going to go see a psychologist. I read somewhere that sometimes hormones don’t have an effect on a person, and I’m really scared. I really need estrogen to change me pyhsically or I won’t feel right. SO I was just wondering, does this actually happen, can hormones really not have any effect on a person? Is there a name for this type of thing?
ANd if hormones really didn’t have an effect, what could a person do to transition?
Thank you for any help that you can give me <3 =)
Taking estrogen will reduce the amount of testosterone which is why a shot is given consistently to overrule the hormone that is being taken over basically.
Everyone reacts different to hormone replacement therapy. But I don’t think you have to worry about effects not taking place. If the effects are not satisfying enough, there are procedures that can be done to help make you look more feminine.
I’ve been looking into hormone replacement therapy for quite a long time but of course, everyone keeps telling me I have to wait two years until I’m 18 to do anything “drastic” to my body.
I personally wouldn’t worry too much about the effects that won’t occur, I worry more about starting hormone replacement therapy more than anything.
Good luck to you =]
