How do I know if I have a hormonal imbalance?

About 5 years ago a cyst was found on my left thyroid. They said it was fine until last year when I had a ultrasound and they found that the cyst had become larger and more dense. Since then I have had a fine needle biopsy, some sort of radioactive test, and more ultrasounds. They also have been testing my blood to see if the cyst was effecting other things in my body. They results came out that while I shouldn’t have that cyst on my thyroid, it is most likely not cancerous. Also, the blood work came back negative. I really feel like my hormones are being effected even though the doctors seem to say they aren’t. I have been getting night sweats where I will wake up completely drenched, even my sheets. I have gained 20 pounds in the last year and I workout every day. I stopped getting my period for 6 months and then I got on birth control and it didn’t stop for a month. The lastest symptom is that I have this strange taste in my mouth. What’s the deal? Is it my thyroid?

You have to see a specialist called Endocrinologist. It sounds like you have underactive thyroid glands, causing you to gain wait. Prescription medication easily can help that problem. I’ve had my glands removed years ago and I’m still kicking.
