bio identical hormone therapy
Too high testosterone in an older woman post hysterectomy?

I am a 50 plus year old woman and just found out I have high testosterone (74, normal is 5-21). I have been using a HRT bio-identical hormone replacement cream for three years, but use only half the amount called for, due to cost. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to why my testosterone might be high? I had a full hysterectomy in 2006. Thanks so much for any help or suggestions! I am into natural and/or alternative therapies. I take no other medications other than occasional Lorazapam for anxiety.

Could be the estrogen–your body can convert estrogen into testosterone. But it could also be that you have an endocrine disorder and your adrenal glands are just making too much testosterone.
